and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) A membership organization. "Members offer the continuum of aging services: adult day services, home health, community services, senior housing, assisted living residences, continuing care retirement communities, and nursing homes. CARF/CCAC Continuing Care
Accreditation Commission The Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC), which was acquired by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in 2003, is the nation's only accrediting body for continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) and other types of continuums of care that are referred to as aging services networks.
Food and Drug Administration, Hospital Bed Safety WorkGroup The Hospital Bed Safety Workgroup (HBSW) is a partnership among FDA, the medical bed industry, national health care organizations, patient advocacy groups, and other federal agencies (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Consumer Product Safety Commission, and the Veterans Administration). Its goal is to reduce the risk of side rail entrapment in hospital beds.
Friends Services for the Aging
(FSA) Friends Services for the Aging is an association of Quaker organizations that provide services to older adults in Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. It was founded in 1991 to facilitate cooperation among these independent programs and to enhance the quality of their services. FSA accomplishes this through collaboration in staff training and development, marketing, referrals, planning, and other joint efforts.
Gerontological Society of
America (GSA) A non-profit professional organization with more than 5000 members in the field of aging. GSA provides researchers, educators, practitioners, and policy makers with opportunities to understand, advance, integrate, and use basic and applied research on aging to improve the quality of life as one ages.

Creative Retirement (NCCCR) "Established in 1988 as an integral part of the University of North Carolina at Asheville, the North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement (NCCCR) has the threefold purpose of promoting lifelong learning, leadership, and community service opportunities for retirement-aged individuals. Besides serving the greater Asheville area, NCCCR collaborates with organizations in North Carolina and across the country."
